Improve your home this summer with some DIY
DIY – a word fraught with potential danger. Many of us have haunting memories of this word – with our childhoods littered with stories of disaster as our fathers confidently tried to nail that bracket to the wall only for a 6 inch gaping hole to appear in the plaster. Indeed, DIY can be a tricky subject to broach however with a small amount of care DIY is as easy as 1, 2, 3.
Now the summer is here, it’s a perfect time to get outside and put our skills to good use by improving our homes. Whether it be painting the window ledges, building a new shed or simply cutting the grass – there is a whole host of things you can do outside if you put your mind to it. I recently painted the window ledges of my house as the paint had begun to peel; I used a reputable ladders website to ensure I had the correct equipment before beginning my venture. Safety is obviously key for jobs off the ground so good preparation and deciding what equipment you need is important. The job itself was easy and filled me with a sense of pride once complete, its amazing what a large effect small jobs like this can have on the overall appearance of your home. Similarly, I re-painted all the patio furniture which again made them look like new again.
So get out there this summer and enjoy the weather, and put those DIY nightmares behind you. You’ll be pleased you did.
